As the BJCP continues to grow, it’s become harder for representatives to handle the local needs of all members within the regions. So the BJCP has added assistant regional representatives to help provide assistance to members on the local level. Within our Mid-Atlantic Region, I’ve selected three assistants: Andy Hejl in the Philadelphia area, Malcolm Frazer in the Pittsburgh area, and Brian Bergquist in the Richmond area. I live in the Dayton area, so each of us is within a three hour or so drive of most of the region.
We’re still planning duties, but the biggest help I see is when people need some assistance in organizing competitions, proctoring exams, providing training, or answering questions, they can ask any of us for help. Of course, you can all contact me directly as always, but the four of us will work together as a team to see that requests are handled.
You can see our photos and contact information on our new officers page at http://dev.bjcp.org/about/ governance/officers/. We’re working on migrating content to our new web site, so not everything is fully set up yet but this officers page is currently accurate.
