BJCP encourages members to attend HomebrewCon in San Diego!
HomebrewCon is a one-of-a-kind gathering exclusively for American Homebrewers Association members. This annual event features an all-star lineup of homebrew, cider, mead, and fermentation experts for an opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge!
Members who attend the conference will receive non-judging experience points, so be sure to include your BJCP number when you register!
To register, visit HomebrewCon.org. AHA membership is required for conference registration. You can receive a $5 discount on an AHA membership, and support the BJCP, by joining here and using the discount code ‘BJCP’.
Please note that the AHA has made changes to the HomebrewCon and NHC judging schedule this year, so don’t assume events are taking place on the same days or times as the prior conference. Consult the schedule. For example, changes from pre-pandemic years include the final round of NHC judging moving to Wednesday, the NHC awards ceremony moving to Saturday evening, and Saturday having paid workshop options instead of seminars.
Judging for the NHC Final Round will take place Wednesday, June 21, from 8am – 5pm at the Town & Country.
Sign up to judge, and click the “I want to volunteer” option to complete an application to judge. If you have additional questions on judging or stewarding at the competition, reach out to Chris Williams. The AHA is looking to build a strong pool of national and higher-ranked judges for final round but will happily accept experienced certified judges. Note that volunteering to judge does not guarantee a judging spot, as volunteers may exceed available spots.
The BJCP Member’s meeting will be held on Thursday, June 22nd from 3-4 pm, in room Pacific H & I.This is an opportunity to get an update from the BJCP Board and Directors, as well as ask us questions.
BJCP Exams Offered at NHC
There will be 4 exams offered during the conference. If you are interested in taking any of the exams or have questions, contact Kristen England.
*NOTE*This set of exams will be the first to follow the recently announced changes to the written exam structure
