The board discussed allowing outside groups with worthy benefits to promote these services to members. The board agreed by consensus to allow this, with the president reviewing the requests, and that the list of members should not be given to outside organizations (consistent with the privacy policy). Any mailings to members would be conducted by the BJCP, not outside groups. The board also discussed and rejected (by consensus) a request from one of these outside groups to allow beer reviewers in magazines to get CEP points.
