The following is an update from David Houseman, BJCP Competition Director:
The Communications Directorate welcomes Michael Bury, Grand Master II, as the Assistant Competition Director. Competition organizers will hear from either Mike or myself depending on the topic and schedules.
We have recently modified emails that are sent to competition organizers so that initial registration will generate an Invoice and payment will generate a Paid Receipt. The Registration email will still provide a list of active judges and the registration letter when the competition is approved and processed. Generally approval and processing is taking less than a week from initial submission, down from the committed two weeks turn-around time.
The number of competition registrations and competitions held in 2019 are running ahead of prior years, continuing growth in opportunities for judges worldwide to judge beer, mead and cider. New countries have joined those that have hosted sanctioned competitions.
