The Education and Training Directorate provides, recognizes and encourages worthwhile continuing education opportunities for BJCP members. Participation by BJCP in appropriate educational opportunities allows them to further their knowledge and enhance their judging skills to an extent beyond the strict scope of the BJCP exam and in a fashion more responsive to the availability of information and interests of the membership.

The Education and Training Directorate establishes new education opportunities and programs such as training sessions organized by third parties, development of educational products and programs available directly from the BJCP, development of a Beer Vocabulary reference, and development of a Sensory Tasting Kit.

The Style Director chairs the standing Style Committee, which is used periodically to make substantial revisions to the guidelines, including translations to other languages and data formats. The standing Style Committee is used to provide flexibility in those assisting with style guideline revisions without the need to continually appoint new assistant style directors.
