2022 Election

The three regions below are holding elections for regional representatives in 2022. Active National and higher judges may run for BJCP Regional Representative. Judges may self-nominate or be nominated by other active judges from their region.  

If you are nominating someone other than yourself, please contact them before nominating to confirm they are willing to serve if elected. You will also need to provide the nominees BJCP ID and their email address to complete the form. Both the nominee and the person nominating must be from the election region and must be active judges.

Nominations close at midnight PST on April 15, 2022
.  When the election is live, judges in a region with an active election can visit the Voting page to read candidate statements and access the online voting booth.

2021 Election Results 

The Election Committee has certified the election results for the 2021 election:

Mid-Atlantic: Fred Mullner was elected with 58.57% of the vote. Voter turnout was 18.06% of the region’s active members. Mullner replaces Gordon Strong as the Mid-Atlantic Representative.

Midwest: Sandy Cockerham ran unopposed.

South: Sal Mortillaro was elected with 56.3% of the vote. Voter turnout was 12.89% of the region’s active members. The BJCP would like to thank Jen Blair for her initiative in running for the board and her commitment to the BJCP.

2020 Election Results

The Election Committee has certified the election results for the 2020 election; winners in this year’s elections are:

Asia-Pacific: Christopher Wong was elected with 50% of the vote. Voter turnout was 20% of the region’s active members.

Europe-Middle East-Africa (EMEA): Omer Basha was elected with 65% of the vote. Voter turnout was 40% of the region’s active members.

Northeast: Andrew Luberto was elected with 80% of the vote. Voter turnout was 15% of the region’s active members.

West: Brian Cooper was elected with 59% of the vote. Voter turnout was 27% of the region’s active members.

The winners will officially take office 1 June 2020. The Election Committee thanks Andrew J Walsh, Jared Hatch, Marek Kaminski, Sam Tait, Jim Sawitzke, Jay Hersh, and Oleg Shpyrko for showing exceptional initiative and interest in the program.

2019 Election Results

BJCP Regional Representative elections were held in the following regions in 2019: North, Northeast and Mountain/Northwest. Voting occurred between 29 April 2019 and 13 May 2019. The BJCP Election Committee has certified the election results for the 2019 election:

  Northeast: Diego Setti was elected with 48% of the vote. Voter turnout was 21% of the region’s active members.
  North: Brian Joas was unopposed and was re-elected.
  Mountain/Northwest: Dennis Mitchell was elected with 32% of the vote. Voter turnout was 25% of the region’s active members.

2017 Election Results

Our electronic voting booth was open during the first two weeks of May 2017. 

Mid-Atlantic

Gordon Strong ran unopposed and is declared re-elected. 

Midwest

Sandy Cockerham ran unopposed and is declared re-elected.

South

Phil Farrell was elected with 51% of the vote.
Voter turnout was 31% of the region’s active members.

West

Travis Hammond ran unopposed and is declared re-elected.
